BabySteps Consulting Home Lactation Services wants to provide the help in the comfort of your home. It is common to need to seek the skills of an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant. As with anything new we all need a little help.
Breastfeeding is a learned skill and new parents and their babies often need to have assistance during the learning curve.
Let me be your guide and your teacher. Breastfeeding can be enjoyable, comfortable, and easy after everyone learns.
In the comfort of your home I will help you learn how to COMFORTABLY position your baby and LATCH without pain. I will give you the troubleshooting tips as you learn to correct your baby's LATCH. You will be so proud of yourself as you master the skills of breastfeeding your baby.
I will weigh your baby, assess how much milk is actually taken during a feeding. In addition I can teach you about breast care, engorgement management, nipple care and just about anything else you might have on your mind as a new parent.

A Little Story About Me
I am a wife to wonderful supportive husband and a mom of four children, each child has taught me more than any book could offer. I have worked as a Registered Nurse in Maternal-Child Medicine for more than 25 years. Initially I had the excitement and advanced learning in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, then I changed my interest toward working in the Postpartum departments after becoming a mom. I moved toward home visits for new families and ultimately become involved with a follow-up breastfeeding clinic.
A big thank you to all the families who came for help and in turn gave me an incredible learning experience.
I have been a International Board Certified Lactation Consultant since 1997. I keep my skills and knowledge base current by attending several advanced practice conferences annually. I pride myself in keeping updated and aware of changes in this specialized area of health care.
My service is designed to provide help in the comfort of your home. The fees reflect the time and intensity of the appointment.
The initial appointment is typically 60-90 minutes, however if your needs take additional time we will meet for the length you need.
I offer follow-up phone support after your appointment, it would be expected to have additional questions. No additional fees charged for this phone follow-up.
Follow-up appointments are usually shorter depending on the needs.
Payment by check or cash, I am unable to bill directly.
